The Brooklyn Public Library brought their very own Uni Tower to the Brooklyn Book Festival today, creating a reading room on Borough Hall Plaza. BPL staff managed the deployment beautifully. I was ready to help, but I just took photos. No surprise there—this staff managed the Uni Tower all summer on Governors Island.

It is two years ago to the week that the Uni Project and the BPL first created a reading room on the plaza. (More about our history together.) Thanks to Linda Johnson, Richard Reyes-Gavilan, Linda Portera, and all the BPL staff who have worked with us over the years. Great things lie ahead.

This police officer came right over. She’s not writing a ticket. She’s getting ready to snap a photo of the Uni.

Not needed at the BPL Uni, I wandered over to the Target Children’s area. Story time here gets a video feed on twin plasma TVs with close-ups of the books. Like a rock concert.
