Presented in partnership with the Friends of White Park Alliance and NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, and made possible with funding from Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer.

Discover a curated collection of books for all ages, enjoy read-alouds, and draw in the style of Harlem artists like Romare Bearden. Learn how ecologist William Beebe and his team of scientists worked side by side with artists to illustrate ecosystems in their South America jungle laboratories and Caribbean oceanographic workshops during the 1920s–1930s. Presented by The Drawing Center, Wildlife Conservation Society, and The Uni Project in conjuction with The Drawing Center’s exhibition, Exploratory Works: Drawings from the Department of Tropical Research Field Expeditions, on view April 14 - July 16.
