Yesterday, the Uni was in Queens for a community storm relief event hosted by the Queens Museum of Art. We offered a place for folks to gather, read, and also donate books to those affected by the storm. Special thanks to Urban Librarians Unite for working on donations. Also thanks to José Serrano at QMA, Uni Volunteers Anna Robinson and Ken Gordon, installer Nelson DeJesus, and Eleanor and Malcolm Davol. (Today we head to Red Hook for more relief work.)

Board member and Queens resident Ken Gordon lends a hand installing the double tower formation.

This patron and I talked about the book of aerial photography over NYC she found in our collection—one of my favorites.

You can support the Uni by helping us buy sturdy book bins to protect the books as we move around New York. Donate here and thanks!

After the crowds depart, Uni installer Nelson DeJesus and I stay late and mop up the battlefield. Thanks all!
