Uni at Hester St Fair with Municipal Art Society to celebrate Jane Jacobs

The Uni reading room landed at Hester St Fair to celebrate the conclusion of Jane’s Walk Weekend organized by the Municipal Art Society (MAS). Celebrated in over 100 cities around the world, Jane’s Walk pays tribute to the legacy of urban activist Jane Jacobs through a weekend of volunteer-led neighborhood walks that promote urban literacy and walkable cities. We brought some of our favorite urban-themed titles for kids and adults. And we featured a special collection from MAS’s Greenacre Reference Library.

Thanks to MAS staff for a terrific collaboration. Thanks also to Uni Volunteers Xavier Williams and Kelleen Maluski for a fast strike as a bit of rain came in at the end of the day. Tomorrow we head right around the corner to serve residents on Grand Street for five days in a row. We love the Lower East Side! Read on.
