uni (1)Here at the Uni Project, we create open-air reading rooms in unexpected places. Our public reading rooms shake things up and bring out the best in people and communities. This year, we created 107 staffed reading rooms in New York City: on plazas and sidewalks, in parks, under the 7 Train in Queens, at a hip hop concert in the Bronx. We also built five reading room kits for libraries to use around the world. Slowly but surely, we’re creating a different place to read and learn in cities.

Thank you to our volunteers, partners, and donors. Today, of course, is the last day to make a tax-deductible gift for 2014. You can donate here. We’d love to see your name on our donor wall as it travels around New York. See you on the street in 2015.
