This summer, we are once again deploying to play streets in Harlem and the Bronx. Today, I worked one of our favorites, run by Caldwell Programs in Morrisania. I hung out, and took some photos, let the kids take photos, and gathered feedback for our new SOLVE program. Learn more about our ongoing effort at play streets, made possible by a grant from Shippy Foundation. Thanks to Uni site manager Egypt Calier and Jennings Play Street founder Lonnie Hardy.

Play streets are a tradition in New York City. Streets are closed to traffic for play, usually during summer when school is closed. They are located where access to parks and playgrounds are limited.

I brought some samples of new items that we’re including in SOLVE, our next program, coming on the heels of READ and DRAW.
