EXPLORE is a new program that brings the exploration of natural science to the streets in a portable, open-air, science lab-environment. Young and old can look at ants and other specimens through microscopes and magnifying glasses assisted by educators, and then draw what they see using water-color pencils and techniques of biological drawing. All can take home kits to further explore the wonders of New York City’s natural urban environment on their own.

The program has been developed in partnership with the Harlem-based HYPOTHEkids, a K-12 nonprofit science organization, as part of their STEAM the Streets initiative, bringing science and engineering experiences to students in unexpected places in NYC.
